It is mandatory to pass an entry test for the admission in engineering institutions as it is prescribed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
All Candidates looking for admission in any engineering college/university should have to appear in ECAT, which is the entry test of admission at bachelor level. The syllabus of ECAT will be based on the 4 Subjects Physics, Chemistry, Math and English of F.Sc. Pre-Engineering or equivalent. The Test shall be divided into 4 Sections.
The pattern of test is different based on the criteria decided by the respective Universities & Colleges.

The application for ECAT/entry test would be available online after June 15, 2011 on the official website of UET. Click here to fill your form. admission.uet.edu.pk.
Last date of form submission is July 11, 2011.
Online fill the admission form and after filling it print this filled form and candidates have to submit this form at their respective centers.
The admission form would be submitted with the following attachments.
  • Domicile certificate with recent photograph.
  • Computerized National Identity Card or Computerized B form from NADRA.
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree of all the examinations on the basis of which admission is sought (i.e. H.S.S.C., Diploma of Associate Engineer, B.Sc., B.Tech. (Pass) or equivalent).
  • Detailed Marks Certificates.
  • 6 passport size recent photographs.
  • Applicants having equivalent foreign qualifications (e.g. A-levels) must obtain Equivalence Certificate from I.B.C.C.
  • If you are applying against reserved seats for the Children of Overseas Pakistanis you are to submit following documents:
  • An employment certificate (on Form-VIII) of applicant’s Parent/Guardian in a foreign country issued by the Pakistani Embassy in that country. Form-VIII can be downloaded from our website or can be obtained from the office of the undersigned.
  • A photocopy of resident visa of applicant’s Parent/Guardian, attested by the Pakistani Embassy in that country.
Special Note:
  • Submit your admission application form in the center where you want to appear in the test.
  • You have to show your original documents while submitting your application form.
  • No application form would be submitted which is sent by post or courier.
When you are applying for UET entry test, follow these guidelines.
  1. Register yourself using CNIC number and a password of your choice. In case of age less than 18 years, CNIC number can be attained from B-FORM. During registration process, a Tracking No. will be automatically generated on the page. In case of unavailability of computer facilities, applicants may use this facility in the designated computer laboratories at the centers mention.
  2. Remember your password and the Tracking No. that would be used in future for checking result and re-print your application.
  3. Be careful while choosing your Intermediate subject group. All DAE/B.Tech candidates should only choose subject combination (Physics, Chemistry, Math and English).
  4. While filling the form you should be careful that you are providing the same information that appears on your matriculation and inter certificates.
  5. After saving your form you can’t edit it again, so be careful about it and recheck your provided information before saving it.
  6. You are required Acrobat Reader on you system to print out the application form. When you complete your form print this form by clicking on “Print Application Form” button.
  7. This printed application along with attachments listed above shall be put forward to one of the Centers where you plan to appear in the test.
  8. The Entry Test Fee is Rs. 350/- and candidates can deposit it online in the Account # 01280005533303 HBL, UETBranch Lahore.

University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore has declares the result of ecat result 2011 for admission in Engineering Institutions of the Punjab. Last date of Admission forms submission is 19th September, 2011. First merit list will be displayed on the evening of 28th September, 2011 while 3rd October is the last date of depositing dues and documents for 1st merit list.
The classes will start on 10th October, 2011. In ecat test 41,000 candidates were expected but just because of their week performance in F.Sc Exams about to20% students dropped out. Only 31,292 candidates 31,292 participated in the ECAT Entry Test 2011 out of 41,000. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Maud declared the Entry Test result.

Generally the candidates who passed or appeared in the Intermediate, BSc, DAE, B.Tech (pass) or any equivalent examination are eligible for applying entry test. The applicants with following subjects in intermediate can appear in the ECAT 2011.
  • Physics, Mathematics, English and Chemistry
  • Physics, Mathematics, English and Computer Science
  • Physics, Mathematics, English and Statistics

The test is valid for the same session only. You have appeared in engineering college admission test and passed the test but if due to any problem you couldn’t get admission in an engineering college or university then you have to clear the engineering entrance test again next year to get admission in the engineering college/university.
